We drew this on the chalkboard at Menchies...
After Menchies, we finally got around to doing one of the projects we've been meaning to do together. Henry had the idea of making a tree on the wall. I'm, of course, all for bringing anything naturey inside, so we went on a nature walk a few weeks ago to collect some branches. I thought it'd be cool if we wrapped colorful string around parts of the branches, so Saturday night we watched Heroes while wrapping with yarn. Our tree turned out perfectly! We're going to nail it onto the wall for me to hang my jewelery on.
Gracie's new favorite spot--I think she misses being outside. We'll just have to bring the outside in!
Sunday was a slow, smooth day. My friend Liz gave me a cool journal with earthy brown pages, and it inspired me to start a picture journal. Whenever I feel like it, I'm going to draw a collage of things that stood out to me that day. Here's Sunday's...
Sunday evening, we had a musical fireside for the Armenian "branch" that Henry and I are a part of. I played the second movement from Brahms' Sonata Opus 108; it's a beautiful movement. I felt like it deserved more energy and passion than came out in my performance, but people were complimentary. There were 3 people (1 was sweet Henry) who gave me especially inspired compliments that I really needed to hear (I think it is such a talent to give good compliments--one that I don't feel I have). A concert pianist and composer who attended told me that I must continue my studies because my fingers were obviously made for the violin. I do feel like I have unfinished business in the violin world...We'll see where more practicing and setting some goals leads me.
I got almost everything I intended to get done done today, including planning and preparing 72-Hour Kits for Henry and me in case of an emergency (I understand better the scripture that says those who are prepared shall not fear now that I spent a little time preparing for an emergency.)
Henry: This is Henry and I want to say that my wife is amazing! She is talented, loving, and beautiful and I love her. She comes up with these creative things that I can never think of. And yes...she did an amazing job at the fireside. Like wow amazing! Yup....ok...Ill give it back now. To my beautiful wife Lacey. :)
Thanks bb. He's a sweet husband for sure, and he is also very talented and creative. It amazes me how good he is with people, whether it's giving advice or in business.
Back to my day... I got a lot done, but it's ridiculous how much my mood changes with different weeks of my monthly cycle (sorry if that's t.m.i.). Last week was beautiful... I was so excited about life, but this week, I'm just not feeling the same enthusiasm. I'm determined not to let my moods control or upset me though. I'm trying to accept and embrace the way I feel and just go with it, rather than get frustrated that I'm not feeling like I did last week or whatever. After all, there's nothing wrong with each week or day being different from the last right? I'm constantly being reminded that freedom is accepting and even embracing what comes our way...
